This is a newborn eyelet sweater. I was hoping that it would be the end of the ball of yarn, not so. As a result there will be just one more sweater to come. Not now I need to cut out some fabric for an impending quilt.
Need to focus on other things ........the cold spell has broken, time to get serious. Doing what? I don't know!
I made this little sweater today, I was playing around with the flash. The Flash popped the sweater design of the leaves. It is a pale yellow, hard to see at night without the natural daylight. Oh well what will tomorrow bring

I have a little yarn left so made a kiddies hat and then there was still some year so I made a pompom. Guess what a few strands of yarn left. Hmm but sure I have enough to make anything with so I might just put it aside. Then again I will have leftover yarn from another project. Vicious circle
The yarn actually doesn't look this wild in person- maybe I need glasses! I have made a nice little sweater coat and then had oodles of yarn, so then I made this little poncho - baby sixed.. Of course every kiddie needs a pompom to whip back and forth for amusement................. I can see this is going to go on forever, now I need a shirt and pants to go with the poncho... It will never stop there will always be one missing piece!!
My friend Nancy scooped me up and took me to a Large Evangelistic church called the Grave Tabernacle, in Wildwood, fl. The church was a spectacular site, set back from the road on at least 35 acres of land. The stadium size church was filled with wall to wall people thousands upon count. The show last 2 hours, a spectacle as you can see from the clip I included. At the end of the production the local minister stood up, gave a very short speech, prayer and asked for those to come forward that felt they had just found God. It was fine, Nancy had already found her savior many years ago. Me on the other hand...........................................

I just knew that I would be asked.............." How do you make a video for you tube?". How hard can it be I asked myself?? I managed to quickly hashed some things together. Unfortunately the photo's are not A1 but the sequence, texting are all easily done. I did add music but got a note about copyrighted music- oops! I slashed the music rather than add it .. I was so sure I was not breaking the rules. Oh well. So here we go music less but brighter for the experience. One day I may even have better content to post. Actually I do but wanted to do a quick and dirty job so I knew that it could be accomplished easily......
I was sewing away in the Marina activity building when this puddy cat circled the building and then skipped along the water to the brush area. The cat was slim, speckled and pointy ears, no tail to speak of. It was the first time I had seen a lynx up close,and no I did not try to pet her. I was not sure how tame she would be nor how hungry she was...................

It appears that Hamlin and Valencia were the oranges of choice for the leesburg area until the great freeze in 1990. When a new " sweet orange" called Ambersweet that was frost resistant was introduced and gov't subsidized for the orange growers. The orange growers were not impressed or able to loose their crops for the change over. Those that lost their orchards were in a position to replant their crops with the new introduction . However at this time land was valuable and an opportunity for orange growers who suffered the greatest loss to sell up to developers.

I was making myself comfy on the futon when I found.......... one spot that was awfully comfy and sagging.. BUT it should not be as our futon is only a few years old!! However some one's hubby has been doing a lot of snoozing on that futon... We flipped and snipped the underlining on the futon and found the errant spring that was sprung. A clip that had un-clipped- now the FUTON SURGEON- Mr.Ben is hard a work, crimping the hardware to bite once again into the wooden frame. We will see how it works out.. I am not sure I can exchange his new tv for the futon............I wonder if it is safe to go back to the RV to see how Mr. Ben is doing!

We visited our friends in Recreation Plantation RV resort they had a park wide sale and Ben used his $10 allowance wisely. We bought a small table top grill, electric fan ( for cooling) coffee maker , electronic mosquito zapper - to scare the mosquitoes away from Ben. During our shopping spree at the RV park we met two fellows who had a very attractive lot, I wish I had taken my camera. They had a class A with a carport. Not an ordinary carport one that was elevated far above the RV, with two sections, giving it an L shape rather than the usual bowling alley. Drapes hung from the 15" high ceiling to mask the evening sun, made of outdoor fabric that is made of a teflon fabric. The hues of brown and green stripes were very attractive. Under the carport was not a floor of cement but a cobble stone . Flower beds adorned the patio area , with raised beds of roses and pink tones of flowering bushes.When I talked to the owners they told me that they were getting rid of their class A and bringing in a park model it will be gorgeous I am sure given the work already put into the lot, It was a glorious site
After our walkathon and high expenditures and bags of loot we returned to our friends who had finished their sales pitch and made our way to a local restaurant for sustenance. We talked and laughed and caught up with all our friendly gossip as it has been a year since we saw them. We waived our good buys and headed home, We had one stop to make! Walmart--------------- our favorite store. I managed to purchase some tomato cages to put over our ever so delicate flowers that will get a cool zip tonight. Soon I will head out to adorn the plants with sheets and towels to keep the little plants warm. We will see how frost free the plants are this year!
I was born slightly after 3 am on Dec. 5, 1955. In a few days I will be 55- I guess my lucky number must be 5. Better run out and get some lottery tickets and play my luck 5 combination!!!!!!!!!!

I had heard it all and now about to experience my first BLACK FRIDAY shopping expedition. The parking lots seem calm, lots of cars, but no bodies scurrying around, no lineups on sidewalks, or cashiers mobbed by customers. Black Friday was a let down, not the show I had been warned it could have been. I walked in grabbed most of what I wanted and returned home with my friend. Only a slightly bit less cash in my purse than when I left.
So where were the shoppers? Probably in bed after getting up at 3 a.m. to make the purchases that they had oodled over in the ads. Not wanting to miss the favorite toy that little Sally wanted or the bit of bling for a loved one...........

We made a trip to Market of Marion about 20 miles north of us.It is a wonderful clean, bright and cheery market with stall of fruit, furnishing, textile and plants. I have for the second time made some gardening purchases.
One is a silver dollar Eucalyptus tree that I fell in love with a little more than a year ago, when my neighbor had one -it shortly met it's demise. I asked and I received a beautiful replacement specimen that we negotiated where to plant to benefit both families. It will adorn the west side of my RV a delight for all to see. As it matures and the delicate branches stray we will cut and prune and try (successfully) to graft new shoots for future reforestation.
The second plant I bought is a very delicate specimen. The Master Gardner tells me it is from the bleeding heart family, I am going to have to do a little research on that one. My bleeding hearts are so different at home, that I am unfamiliar with this specimen.
We are vacationing in leesburg, fl and you see my various highjinx while here.I thought it prudent to learn a little more about the small city declared in 1857 and named after it's first premanent resident Evander Lee. Originally from Alabama Evander brought his wife and 8 children ,and settled into their new estate , a homestead purchased for the large sum of $3300
Joined by several brothers he made his riches from a storefront on Main St in Leesburg. Interesting enough it was his brother Calvin, his business partner, who gave the sleepy town it's name " Leesburg" On July 12,1857 the city of Leesburg, was corporated.
In the early 20th century, Leesburg was an important center for watermelon production. In 1930, Leesburg held its first Watermelon Festival, an annual tradition that would last until watermelon production in the area dwindled.The festival is still an important part of Leesburgs' attractions , however the juicey fruit is shipping in rather than locally grown......
Known for the once roaming orange groves, that dwindled with the great freeze of 1983 and 1985, the landscape changed. Tourism flourished and Leesburg is now noted as a popular retirement center in Florida.The city of Leesburg is now home to 20,000 tax paying residents.Easily tripled in the season of the snow birds!
Leesburg's most notable bodies of water are: Lake Griffin and Lake Harris, provide hours of water sports and fishing. Equipped with a public boat launch Lake Harris is a mecca to the fisherman in the area. With open water, a connecting canal system and a leeside breeze a dream for anyone with a sailboat. Mind you the alligators may turn one off of docking a small wetboat!
A neighbor asked me about the Rideau Canal today and I thought it prudent to brush up on my history of my " home town".
The three waterways that make up the Ottawa Region are the Mississippi, Ottawa River and the Rideau system.Of course the most historic body of water is the Rideau River and the Rideau Canal.The Canal being - man made- under the direction of Colonel By (Ottawa's original name was Bytown after the Colonel)

For a synopsis, the Canal was conceived after the war of 1812 when it became apparent that Canada may want to have a secondary route of transportation of goods, via waterways, other than the St. Lawrence River, that would be heavily guarded by USA patrols.In 1826, Lieutenant Colonel John By of the Royal Engineers directed the construction of the Rideau Canal. It was an immense undertaking to devise a pathway and create a navigable waterway. The building of the Canal was subsidized by the British Government. It was not an easy task with the terrain that had been virtually undeveloped bushland. Opening in 1832 it boasted of 47 masonry locks and 52 dams creating a 202 km (125 mile) waterway.Noted in the 19th century as greatest engineering feat.
