What some do for excitement

So after 32 years I am in the replace mode of some windows,
This was is in the kitchen and I was so excited to have a new window, these are custom made for our 6'' wall which means that the sill is a white vinyl and the whole depth of the window instead of having wood meating the short vinyl sill as in previous windows.

Oh we are looking pretty and I need to find a solution for a curtain and I am not putting up the miniblinds and punch holes in the vinyl. HHHHH. Off to walmart- I white extended rod, one package of clips and one white waffle weave shower curtain press in half and hand tacked at the top. This not only gives it body but I am not looking for something to do with leftovers

Now " he" wants a tie back
Solution?? Dig through the scraps in my sewing room and there is a wide piece of ribbon,I sew it into the side seam and when not in use it is hidden between the layers of fabric, There we go!!!

Cooked my goose and ate it too!

Grocery store had turkeys on sale, YUMMY.
This am bright and early I got up , washed and stuffed said bird with sage and onions
Ben made potato's and we had stove top stuffy and luckily we had lots of drippings from this 7.5 pounder. Look at all the food left we have another 3 meals out of it!! Boy was it good , now to do go and wear off some of that dinner

One less job to do .. but one more created

Our beloved boat has risen from the drink!
Ben hoped on board and drove the boat to the launch. And none too . There I was trying to back the boat trailer down the narrow path twisting this way and that.Halfway down I gave up and waited for Ben to come to the rescue. I must have provided 10minutes of entertainment to the neighbors or dare I say FEAR< Fear of me putting the trailer and truck through the fence. I should have hopped out of the truck and manually straightened it but was I thinking ?? NO!!!

Ben hoped in and backed the trailer into the drink and kept on backing up, despite my violet hand gestures- no fingers included. The truck sat deep in the water the exhaust making waves and turbulent motions. We walked the boat to the trailer , just as Ben got it hitched it popped off the trailer. After a few tries Ben asked that I moved the truck up the ramp SLOWLY. On the way to getting into the truck I rolled up my capri's decided my runners need a wash anyways and opened up the truck door, another inch the water would have washed the floor.

The solution worked and with the trailer only having it's back end into the deeper water we were in business, As Ben stood on the boat and used a paddle to guide the back end onto the float on trailer I slowly moved the truck 1/3 of the way up the ramp, Stopping long enough for Ben to get off the boat and into the cab.

Off we go for the 5 minute drive home, OF course you are going to ask who backed up the boat into the laneway, NOT ME!!!

Now to swab, scrub and wrap up the deck!

Jane's special find

Having a little grandson I need to have a sleeping accommodation for little Teddy. Lucky for me I came across this fold up playpen / portable crib. It is a lovely pale green and has obviously been well loved and used. Armed with chlorine bleach, soap and water I moped it up, followed by scrubbing it with a hand brush, It is almost pretty but it is certainly disinfected. Now time to hose down my find and airdry it before packing away in it's specially designed carry case.

One never knows when they head out of the house just what they will find!!

I was thinking that we all love fruit and what could I do to make it more interesting.
Hmm here is something that I can do, How hard can it be????
Now to find the right fruit it appears as if someone has devoured the tasty stuff I had in mind

Recycle Jane is at it again

Out for my bike ride when I spied from my little eye, a great find

I have been searching high and low for the rubbermaid storage unit for extra garbage pails.
SO many years ago I paid $99 for mine and now at $199 it is an expensive house of refuse.
I dragged poor hubby down for a snoop- all pieces accounted for and a little ding that won't bother me.

We went back for the car, loaded up and surprised that all would not fit in the trunk I took 2 pieces and walked them home. Now in place and assembled it will get it's early am bath tomorrow
