Go ahead and laugh but I bet I made your day!

I had a request and I looked for free patterns. Then I search again < hmm I came up with this. Not bad considering the pic I got off the net . Then again I don't have to wear it, LOL. It was a fun thing to do only took a few hours to crochet and believe me I hate to crochet because I have hardly ever done any. Every time I get a project i try to go for knitting because I can do that in my sleep!

AFTER A LOT OF UNUSUAL WORDS

I finally got my diaper bag completed , my sewing machine has become senile and very fussy. Possibly beyond repair, darn another purchase. Not sure what I want either!

Last of my scraps

I had to scrape the bottom of the barrel and this is what I came up with it is a drunkards path, I will flip it onto black fleece so it will be cozy without the weight. That is on the game plan for tomorrow

I left my camera at home

http://www.mountdoracraftfair.com

It was too bright and congested to take pictures. The Main X streets in Mt Dora, Fl were turned into a craft fair, From jewelry to hand sewn items, felted clothing and carvings, there was something for everyone. I spied the crafts similar to what I do to get some ideas. Posters were indicating that picture taking was not ok, thus I thought it best to leave my little camera. Store merchants had open doors while streets were filled with vendors tents. People came by the droves and transformed the quiet little town with appeal to a mass of colored bodies streaming through the sidewalks and streets. Traffic control was evident and hardly any hold ups. Private citizens waived you on as they hope for your business parking on their lawn for $5 and at the local school your $5 included a shuttle to the festivities. One most impressive display was a snow cone maker. Based on the bike that one would pedal to produce hydroelectricity , the machine was comprised of an open wheel with the operator ( usually a young kid) squeezing a set of handle bars while running on the wheel, Ice fell from a bucket the operator pedalled like heck to crush the ice once done it was squirted with flavoring and a cool drink was provided for your labor. The kids loved it the older folks though it was ingenious but no one from that group tried to make their own cone! LOL

Can't keep up with creativity

I bought a number of onesies and now the smallest of the lot may be too small, if we wait until Xmas. So today I have embroidered the littlest onesies for Ted. I will package them up and send them out. Right now I have them on the line, I rinsed out the water soluble sheet I placed on top of the embroidered surface, Once dry into an envelope they go to Baby Ted.

I also have a small drukards path quilt top to get done, I have sewn most of the segments and hope to finish that tonight, during the weekend I will consider placement and get the blocks arranged so that I can whip those together never a dull moment.

In fact it is down right exciting while I am trying to get the gardens attended to , mow the lawn with a whipper snapper and sew poor Ben has been in agony. He managed to spill hot tomato sauce on his forearm and hand. Dunked immediately in ice water and slattered with our homegrown aloe vera plant, it is sore. Today there is more evidence of the injury and his hand is starting to blister. He is not a pretty site.................. One way to get out of hard labor!

Florida Set up

I have no idea what I did the greenery has gone crazy I had to hack the lower palm branches the tree is now well above the shed . My rose bush is hacked to the ground the stems got wrapped around the palm tree and it was blooming above the palm! It was quite a site that needed to be rectified! The variegated Bouganvilla has all sorts of white leaves as you can see, I think these are the new growth and with age they variegate and this vine/bush gets a coral colllored small blossom compared the the large pink blossomed ones we have seen so often. The last season we were here we shrouded some of our plants in cages because the rabbits were abundant. The cages worked well but the little guys are nesting under my shed!

I left the best news to last, Ben's orange tree is full of fruit he is patiently waiting vor them to orange up and not be so green so he can soon eat his bounty

only in Jane's World

We arrived in Leesburg on Wed in more of less one piece.
It took us several hours of blood sweat and tears to get the place scrubbed and opened up, LITERALLY.

As I ran like a wild women dusting and scrubbing, Ben sorted out the electrical and water supply, We ran to get a few groceries for our breakfast in the a.m and some drinkable water.
Up early in the morning I started to handwash the outside of the RV> It was 90 degrees by 8:30. Three hours later the rig was shinning and the awning and carpeting and sitting area was pristine, I had managed to weed and spruce up 75% of my garden. Not even 10 minutes into my jobs my hubby was bitten by a wasp- they call them mud dobbers here. Well I drugged him with benadryl, a neighbor bought us ice, I made Ben sit still until I finished my jobs and until such a time that he was able to participate. The worse case scenario was avoided - this time!!

After lunch we went to a muffler shop a seedy little looking shop with polite workers and pretty clean for some young fellow welding away , the reception area was old an you could see where windows have formerly set, now replaced with paneling and newer windows - old casements filled in. Obviously I had time to kill as I perused through the shop- Things that people leave behind, half glasses of drinks, old mail wads of half read papers. While I was amusing myself Ben was supervising the job pacing back and forth peeking in on what was being done to his precious car, now with its shinny new custom made muffler. The job was done, the costing was appropriate. The best news is that it was cheap to repair, Who knows it may last us the lifetime of the car!

Tomorrow is another day with gardening and erecting of the shade tent for the car.BBQ and clothesline installation. I might take the afternoon off and make lists of what is next! I might even be organized at day's end!

Here we are in Harrisburg, PA not far from the Chocolate Factory

by the way if you need a muffler there is one close to Harrisburg, PA. WE were 2 miles from our destination and got honked at the muffler was being dragged and we pulled over and into a hotel for the night. Hubby is black with grease and we are sort of together. One muffler is still intact and one is gone . Oh well we will be spending more $ in Fl last year it was brakes and rotors. The fellow did a rotten job of turning them so I went in and asked him to test drive it, he did and came back red faced, I got free rotors out of the deal and then I crossed the street poof the water pump. Got that in the same neighborhood!! Now a new muffler soon there will be an inport with USA parts only

And here they are

I am not sure if Teddys new legging will fall down so I made them with a little drawstring to keep them in place, one with one pair without for experimentation. Just wait until he starts crawling who knows where they will land. Another consideration was his pontoon feet and one has to accommodate those to get his feet in and out of his leggings. One more prototype....

Just my chair

I must be getting OLD my back and joints are telling me so.
I dug out the daughter's electrical massage pad that she left with us for safe keeping
Massage points are many and heat too boot.

My hubby may be skeptical but I have seen him eyeing and sneaking in a private sitting!

WIthdrawal

No crafting these days. Yardwork, cleanup and packing for our winter abode.
Our truck is packed to repatriate my daughters childhood toys, books and assortment of things that she " left" with us to store. Now that she has her own little family it is time for PAYBACK, and I regain our closet space. Her friend will be driving the loot across country to Winnipeg. I just want Dear Jennifer to know there is no return policy!!!
