Coupon Capital of the USA IS............

FLORIDA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I have not been lost in cyberspace, or baked into a corner, knitted into knots, or strung out to dry. Although my neighbors may wish that I was the later. I have been sick with a cold, my hubby started it first and being the wonderful generous person he is shared it with me. The kiss of death!! I am continually barking, day and night, Enough to drive the friendly neighbors to plan a lynch mob.

So when one is in excile what does one do.....................Shop for coupons, on line or the old paper type, clip and snip, click and print. Now with a good selection of coupons I am ready to roll. Luckily I spend my winter in Leesburg, FL, Florida is well known for it's collection of coupons . They come in all sorts of forms from electronic to paper. The senior population live by them more so than at home. It doesn't take long to get into the scheme of things. Does anyone every pay full price for an article anymore? It is hard to argue when coupons add up to as much as 40% off of items.

Now that I am germ free...............................well almost my bark is worse than my bite

Get set we are going virtual shopping.

Armed with coupons, sorted by store , then categories and maybe even aisles we are set to shop. You have to read your coupons very closely. Does the coupon specifically indicate that it can be used with other sales?. Or can you only use one coupon per purchase. Does it have an expiry date and will it be accepted by other retailers.? Hmm you have to know the lingo.

In my favorite shops I am only allowed one coupon per purchase luckily the two stores are within spitting distance. The trick is to arm hubby with money and coupon and direct him to the cash. Off he goes while I look for the hard to find article. Woosh I am off to the races. I have 5 coupons for this store. Now I go down the street to the next store that has the same coupon laws and get what I need there- again in tamden. AHHA we are half way there. We now go back to the first store and purchase next on our list in the same order followed by a return to store number two. Now for 8 items at $10 each minus 50% coupon it is worth the exercise. The craft stores seem to be the only ones that appear to block the shopper from using too many coupons.

Now after all that marching around it is time to eat. AHHA McDonalds coupons!! Now after a McD delightful meal and a big total of $6 for the both of us we have saved enough at the craft show to pay for that meal and have a whooping $34 savings in our pocket which paid for the groceries this week at the local discount grocery store ( sorry they have no coupons but who is complaining.

You can tell that I am on the mend when I think of shopping, sort out all the details and make a made dash for the store........................ Just wait till I am in full operation....................Soon very Soon

WHAT

HAPPENS WHEN THE FRIDGE GOES BELLY UP??

Hubby takes it apart but first runs his favorite ice cream to the nearest neighbor
Of course I just bought the groceries...............
Hopefully the hubby's fix will work
I can see a new fridge will be in next year's budget.

I found this vintage pattern, started to knit a sweater and decided to do a blnaket first!
Maybe finish it next week. Ben is thankful for the quiet time!

As I plonder along

Making fondant flowers and buttercreme creations I wonder just how long this will last. CORRECTION - I wonder just how long I can keep it calorie free. SO far so good, turning the food in sculptures reduces the temptation of nibbling. Especially when one notices that the flowers made from gum paste and fondant and exposed to natural elements are HARD AS ROCK!!

What is my next quest you are asking............. Well...................I have two more weeks out of this course and on the last lesson I have to make a cake, buttercreme ice it -and then toddle off to class. At that time we will learn just how to actually place the fondant on the cake for a classy smooth look. Once iced to perfection then we are instructed to place the flowers we created in class onto the cake..

My dilemma you ask> I have no problems with the production of the cake, I have no problems with decorating it. BUT I DO HAVE A PROBLEM!! I am looking at creating a Jane Cake. Something that is just not the same as the rest of the class. Something simple, classic but a little Jane adventure to it. Hmm I am still brainstorming............. What will it be ............ Well, you too will have to wait and see what I am up too. I have a few ideas and hope to pop the top off the cake bosses pot! Let's see if I can do that!

Now the countdown begins!
