Afloat again in my flote boat

The river is calm, it is hotter than heck with the high humidity and who should appear?? Trailer Guy. We had a guest but it took less then 1/2 hour to get the boat in the drink, motor home from the boat launch about 2 miles away and the anchor driven!! The second tank of gas in the boat the motor revved. And you got it pouring rain!! SO tomorrow is another day! At least my boat is not on dry land and the sea gull have their old landing strip to land on. Hmm I will have to scare them off to my neighbors boat, That worked well last year!

High and Dry

Here I am the boat is spotless, the motor recharged, fuel in great supply. AND>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
waiting for the trailer to come and launch me. Oh where oh where is my little buddy.
I can always sit on the boat, picnic in hand and pretend that I am lunching on the river.
Then again it is cloudy , windy and waiting on thunderstorms- so maybe it is just as well I am not on the river.

Open wide

I thought that i would have a nice uneventful trip to the daughter's and get some TLC time ... but... Off to the Dentist we went with a sore tooth in need of a cap. After not one , two or even 5 but 9 needles the patient was in pain. Dear Daughter now has an abscess, ten days of treating said abscess and then let's try again. This presents a problem because of a little ailment called TMJ the jaw doesn't function well, Now we can not open or properly close the jaw and we are not able to eat anything larger than a crumb. Hmm milkshakes anyone? Round two starts in two weeks!

Say what??

Nothing says it better like a loaded power washer.
This is probably not the best time to pick an argument when the lady of the house has a dangerous weapon in her hands. Solicitors be aware!!

From your house to mine!!

I found this great chair it looked new except someone spilled paint all over the canvass. I went to my favorite store.. Fabricland.. They sold a product called Textaline, it is the fabric used on outdoor furniture and it appears as if it is a vinylized fabric. Even better they had an inventory sale, $3 later here is my new throne!

Pretty in Pink

I just couldn't resist,
I had this big ball of pink yarn, I had a vision. I then bought little socks to match.
Too bad it is not my size. Now what are you asking I am doing? You will have to stay tuned for next week to see what craft I produce

Chipmunks 3 Ben 1

Those little chipmunks look oh so cute as they race across the lawn, over the driveway and into the garage. I quickly race to their hideout and wait for not one not two but three little chippies to emerge, It is not long!! I stopped up their hole that they have made through the wood siding of the garage, I wait in anticipation. There they are just waiting for someone to open up that garage door and bait them. As I stand at the door, looking for little chippy i see not a one in site, I quickly open the door and then whoosh between my legs run an itsy bitsy chipmuck. I retrieve what i wanted from the garage and go to the other side of the house, just enough to hide but to peer to see what little chippy is doing, He emerges from the doorway, peeks, stands on the sill and then jumps out of the threshold looking for more nuts to hide!! That is it - WAR> Ben gets his trap out, put 6 ( yes he loves his nuts and crying over having to use 6 of his precious peanuts) peanuts in place, we shut the door. Every time we move the car or enter the garage we are on chipmunk lookout with one of us standing at the door as the car is taken out of it's holding spot. And every time those chipmunks try to outsmart us, Not this time!! We open the door going to the big city to do our shopping and what should we see? Chip in a cage. We scoop up our HUMANE TRAP, and put him in our truck, We give him ten miles of distance between him and the garage, WE place him in tall grass, farmyard with a stream flowing in the ditch. Chipmunk Heaven

C"YA CHIPPY- oh what time should I prepare dinner for you ?

St. Distaff Day

I spent last Saturday in Winchester,On. A small farming community that was hosting St. Distaff Day.
The day was full of workshops, seminar and poetry reading. Not to be outdone by the catered lunch!!
The Twistle guild from the Ontario Spinners and Weaver's Association organized our day. We had a number of freebies as welcoming gifts and a day of fun!
This is a time for Spinner and Weavers to get down to business and share their crafts. I made a dry felted project it is a pin cushion.

Cold Water wash!

Ben was helping me with my soaker hose, being blocked I suggested we tie a rope to it and throw it in the river to get a good rinse out. It sounded like a good idea, I vanished around the other side of the house when I heard splish splash. Guess who was soaked to the hide.................
The sympathetic wife was not at home but the one who was in fits of laughter was............

Should I or shouldn't I .. Do I or don't I

If you find yourself in this query it is probably better to not touch!! Then again I am not one to put down a challenge. One of my Vertical Blind set was looking a tad tinged, maybe i should have got a second opinion~ I defrocked the window, bleached the water and threw them into the machine on a light cycle. They came out looking Marvey and Pristine......... I steam ironed them and mounted them onto their holders. Ben was very impressed how nice they washed up. Then it happened I looked down, way down and what do I see...................

YOU GOT IT THEY SHRANK~~1 1/2 inches, BUT ARE THEY CLEAN!

Hmm maybe this is an indicator to buy new ones? They are only 27 years old and I was amazed that they did not ROT and FALL APART in the wash. Double Hmmm maybe if they fall apart in the next wash I get new ones.....................SHHHHHHHHHH don't tell hubby dearest
