One day of glory. down the tubes

That was it one day, just one day I had the best ever golf score - for me. I surprised everyone my coach, the so called golf pro maybe even me. It was short lived, I realized that as I pitch and putted around the course to end up just exactly where I had been at the beginning of the season- Mediocre. Then again there is no competition for Mediocre- perhaps I have something here.........

The Three R's

Reduce.. Reuse. Recycle

That is the moto here at HTR. You can see for yourself the collection from scrap to treasurers. All are collected that the RV park dump better known as Le Boutique. You never know what you will find to help you out on that project.. Then again if it is not claimed it is reclaimed as precious items and recycled to aluminum recyclers, electronic recyclers, and of course the curious homeowner and tinkler. It provides hours of enjoyment to a few who want to let their creative side hang loose

Ali where are you ?

Three years ago I saw an Aligator in our Marina waters. But no more. Some are lucky enough to see them sun themselves and have a light snack of any varment in it's grasp. I am told this is mating season and calls can be heard at night. I suppose it is just not warm enough for them to be out sunning themselves let alone on the waters surface. Hmm wonder if there are any lost treasures in that water that one can dive for.. Wonder if the Ali would come out of hiding then?? Hmm still wondering but do not want to try out any hypothesis.. Perhaps the turtles have provided enough nourishment! As the sign says no turles allowed Gators only!

Ode to the Propane Tank

A sea of white cylinders line the cement pad. Some tall, some fat, wide and small. All waiting to be refilled by the technician. Just an indicator of the past days coolness and the need for heat. From stove operation to hot water consumption, propane is our friend. A light odor-filled gas, it's pungent odor wafts to warn one of it's existence, and the possibility of something called Poof! The white cylinders should be stored upright and tied in that position if not in use. Not in your truck but in the back seat of your car for transportation. Why you ask- good question. The answer- If there is a leak you can identify it before it identifies you as the next victim. Then again it depends if Granny is in the back seat and if she is your mother in law!

At another campsite, I heard this hissing sound from the neighbors. As I passed their unit I could smell the propane cloud. Luckily the propane closet was not locked and we were able to extinguish the propellant at it's source. Upon the owners return we saw that there had been a light hole chewed into the hose. The story was that a hungry squirrel was lapping at grease spilled on the rug and then as he / she was biting at the rug they bit the hose under the rug. The squirrel was no where to be seen. Obviously he was the bright one to get out of town!

Bronze booties?

As I am watching the olympic games I have nothing but time to twiddle the fingers.
At least with the size of these booties they knit up fast and not too many takers at this point.
They will join the other clothing in wait until I get home to dispurse them.
How do you like that hat with the PomPom- it needed a little added feature?
They are both made with variegated cotton that was supposed to be used to make washclothes.... OOPS

Too bad they are not bronzed. Hmm I wonder if I had baby booties and just where are they now?

Brr ......................

What does one do when it is a little nippy out yonder. Knit 4 scarves, two hats and embroider a blanket with scraps.
I bought a little fleece blanket that was $2.99. It was on sale from $8.00. After closer inspection I thought I would have never paid the full price. I needed to add a little zip. I brought some fabric scraps from home. Took a segment of the pattern the " double wedding ring" and only did one segment making it a single ring. I had just enough scraps in various colors to make it somewhat presentable. As luck would have it ( ugh) I still have scraps left over- perhaps I should make a braided rug- for a mini doll house - the scraps are few and afar. I have bought only a tinkle of fabric, Sticking to my guns. But did you see the stash of yarn in my basket... I have a thought for them too!

Take 2

Once again I am at it. The frost long gone, and little sprouts of plants peeking up. I found some left over edging in my shed. I had scrapped and combed the sandy soil, weeding out roots and suckers leaving behind something that appears to be immitation soil. Of course I am the recycle queen of the park so anything goes. I smiled sweetly and hubby got down on bended knee once again to perform his task and dig a trench not to bury the wife but to set the edging into. The best
news of all is that we did not get one bite from the red ants, in fact we did not see any. Perhaps we chased them to the neighbors properties.

Bloom Baby Bloom

Supposedly the frost has abated. The rose hybred planted, all prayers on deck. Ben is hoping that his blossoms will see the day of light in the next week. More buds can be seen at the apex of the branches. Of course we would plant on a sunny day followed by gloomy days and high wind and nippy forecast. All is well no frost on the horizon. YET!
