Rain Rain too wet to work on the boat but Ben and me worked diligently at sanding off the 30 year old wooden steering wheel. I put a maple stain on it and hopefully tomorrow will apply a high gloss clear varnish to make it shine. Originally a maple wheel that has worn with the years, I applied a maple stain and it is soaking in, boy is that wood thirsty!! After it dries it should lighten up slightly. Next project you ask? 1) To get the rain to stop so we can 2) hook up the new steering cable and mechanism. OH JOY!!
