Purple loosestrife is now found throughout most of North America.
Spreading like wild fire it's seed heads blown as cars pass bye and infiltrate dormant soil. It covers farmers fields, overtaking crop and undisturbed fields. Pretty but a nuisance as it sweeps the land taking over fields and watershed areas. Downgrading wetlands and destroying fish habitats. If you see it pick it, remove the seed heads. If you can't dig it up, cut it back your neighboring farmers will thank you for it.
