Little hands won't be cold next winter.
I even put idiot strings on them so that they won't get lost when a certain person takes them off!

Total coverage at both ends
Only other Grannies can appreciate. My little guy wears cloth diapers so I got it into my head that he needs a little granny touch. SO this am I made two diaper covers and tomorrow I will zip up my last cover, adding a few difference touches to details. I will have decorative elastic on the outside of the diaper rather than hidden into a pocket, I will also have the pocket slightly larger to insert those diaper absorbent liners.
Have you looked for a balaclava for a child? Can't find them but I did find this pattern and it was free, I added some elastic ( green ) at both ends, It keeps the balaclava in place and if one doesn't want their nose covered the little face piece can be stretched under the chin, keeping one cozy. The elastic is FOE ( fold over elastic) it is very soft and is easy to sew .

Getting Closer
I have enough blocks for a kids or twin bed, I have arranged them and decided to make more borders rather than strip between them as I just have enough fabric to trim this, When I put it on the frame this summer I will likely build on it with a second border,
First I need to stitch it together and then play a little more

Don't leave any scraps around me!
See what happens!
I am hoping to retrieve enough coordinating fabric so that I can get 24 squares from this bag of goodies that I have. I am not sure the design may have to change up a bit. I drew out a little design in real size and then cut it according to the paperwork.
SO far I have 12 and it has proven that I might have a bit of a puzzle on my hands, depending on how the fabric holds out and if I can achieve the look I am going for, If not tough potatoes and I will have to rearrange the blocks into something eye catching.
I am procrastinating on going to the fabric store and hope to see if I can be as creative as my visions!

Follow along with me. I will add a segment to the bottom of the post as I progress
I am working on a quilt. As you will see I cut out a template from paper.
Then transferred that onto fusible web, pressed it onto a square of fabric and cut out ( yep by hand ) all those groves. Lastly I pressed the cutouts onto long strips of fabric, The fusible web will keep them in place until I stitch them all down.
Using invisible thread I twist and turn until the cutouts are fully anchored. As there are 18 appliques it is going to take me awhile, Until then stay tuned!
And here they are!
Now onto Triangles that become diamonds. Hopefully tomorrow I can get around to joining them all up. They will trim around the 3 columns I made with the appliques. I think we are going for the bohemian look!
Diamond borders are done and onto the rest of the borders tomorrow and possibly Saturday, We are getting close! Once the application of these are finished I will package up the quilt for long arming when I get home
One set of borders down 3 more to go
Last border will go on tomorrow. If you look closely you can see a rusty/brown with gold flecks border, I had purchased this outside of the kit. I found that one border did not have quite enough fabric, not sure why. Off to the fabric store and I found a complimentary border that I like very much , In fact I might like it a little more than the provided fabric. The good news is that I have extra so I can make my bias tape border out of it..
As I draw near to the end of this quilt I have some decisions to make. Does this quilt cry for prairie points or scalloped borders> Hmm time will tell! Let's see what tomorrow brings!

Blog Construction
Dear Anonymous.
I have two favorites
The blog that you see here is free and created at blogger.com
You can purchase your blogger name for a small fee or you can wing it free as I do.
The second is Wordpress it is easy to use and you can also obtain a domain name from them. They have a package deal for $99. I have a blog there that is free too
I have purchased a domain name some time ago through "go daddy" , but I have found that if you tag posts it makes one more visible, I have not has a problem with being found on the web with a non paid domain name.
Once you create your blog you can do a search for pinging a blog, What happens is you enter your blog name into a form and goggle and other browsers pick that up and link it so that those looking for a particular blog or something similar it is visible to the person searching for what you have
