Pic is yet to come................... keep tuned

While on a Tornado watch I was stuck inside, winds, hard rain and lightning slammed down on us. No Tornado for me just lots of rain, a little swirl around the rv, causing it to list enough to wake up Ben from his nap. We were lucky compared to a few folks that had some wind damage in the clip above

So while I was entertained by the sounds of the evening I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to knit up that 5 hour baby sweater. Now that it is done, I will have to wait during daylight hours to take a pic.

Tomorrow is another day so much on the agenda. We will have to see what Jane gets into mischief next!

What legs??

Ok I am now on solid ground, time to regroup from riding lesson #2. I can certainly feel my legs today!! I was on the Arabian for a length time, walking, trotting, heels down. Sit up straight shoulders back but slightly above the saddle and inner calves on the horse's side. Twisting, turning, straight lines, circles, fencelines and obstacles to contend with. It was a lot of fun and the horse behaved. I actually got a fancy dressage saddle to ride in. BUT and this is a BIG BUT- Will I feel my legs tomorrow- they are a might numb. The good news is that I do not have BULL LEGGED SYNDROME! HAHA

It was a good day in the highjinx of Jane journal!
Now where is the horse linament for those sore unused muscles?

Just Mosey- ing along

Dusty and I went for a walk and trott today.
I am taking horse back riding lessons at a local farm..
First off I warned the lady that I had not been riding forever

We get Dusty from his paddock, I show off my grooming skills and pass the test
Now onto the saddle- what saddle? No one warned me..
Today I am riding with a vaulting saddle - a 6 inch wide leather strips with two handles and a girth. I do not use the handles, there are no stirrups for me to feel secure. Now to start we walk , then walk faster. Now onto business, - toe touching- Here I am- reins in hands, no saddle , bending over at the waist touching my tootsies. Now I stay upright, I do not slur to the right or left, I am very aware of the fact that I do not want to shift my weight or pull on the reins of the horse.Mission accomplished- now I get to repeat that 10 times. Whew passed that test.. Or so I thought, We turn and I am now going in circles the other way. Yep more toe touching, but why not throw in a few bows , touch your nose to the horses mane, without bobbing or getting decked by the horses head.

We are now set for business and I trott, first a sitting trott - Try to stay on a horse with a little leather securing two thick blankets on his back, I am beginning to wonder if bare back wouldn't have been easier. Yippee-- it come back to me as I post off and on the horses back with some resemblance of rhythm. AHH that feels better I am assuming I have more control. My coach yells you - that 's it old girl you remember!! You have those muscles!! I stop dead in my tracks the coach's excitement has excited poor Dusty into a wild trott- time to get him into control and back into the rhythm...Hmm let's see what I do next week

Cont'd

As you can see the squares are getting closer to what they should be. When I complete one block all are completed at the same time. Using the strip method is like a factory line working in row, instead of completing each block individually

I can feel another movie coming on

I am making a quilt with my usual strip method and thought I would take pics while I work and when finished hoped to make a short video. Maybe at the end of the month it will be done.. oh so many distractions

As a result I decided to play around and practice by myself
I concentrated with precision, I had a game plan
Only problem is that my alter ego had one too........................

Who cares no one can loose when it is me against me!
