Natural gas is here

Recycle up cycle

A lady was getting rid of her old Jennair and I was able to snafooed it. One of our knobs broke
off at the stem and it was different than the other model. So Ben
had to trade the Center console. The donor fan switch was broken
but ours was fine a little filing and our switch fit in the donor console. I had the top plates
So here we are all spiffed up. We gutted everything we could from the other jennair.
The fan alone is a 800$ part! Yippee we are in business!

Hard working seniors

We weren’t home a week when we started our first project. A triaxle of soil

Wonder what will pop up next

The garden is taking shape . Turns out that there are surprises popping up from last year. The magnolia tree has dropped it’s blossoms.

Never a dull moment

I fired up the embroidery machine and got these done for the grandkids. The Purple shirt is in the process of being washed then blocked.

Biding my time While on isolation no problem!

First I spun some not so great wool but it was good experience working with fibre. I knit this square bottom. The handles are not sewn together at the top because I hope to line it sometime this week.

I grabbed my embroidery machine and stitched out ballerinas and angels. They are waiting for assembly then shipping to the USA.

Isolation projects

Not sure what borders to put on the top one I figure I will sort it out once I
Take it back to Ottawa to longarm in my equipment.I am keeping busy during social isolation. I actually stopped for awhile to do house work .

We have a few tasks to do around the house and yard and make sure we get out for exercising.
We avoid everyone so no risk of contact.

Have left overs will knit

Double ply

Corriedale blue and grey in fine weight . A practice making fingering yarn and this is what happened

I made a fingering weight cable fingerless glove now finishing the other to match.

Gotta to love practice! I can see my spinning is improving! Yeah

Here I go again

Q

I  am so far behind but I checked my stash and with alittle bit of added fabric I came up with this. I just need to take it back to Ontario to longarm it. The pattern is called  cathedral stars and on later thought would be stunning in batik fabrics. Oh well it was an easy sew and the curved seams were no problem.

Not sure which thread I will use for top stitching. I am partial to soft blue

A llittle play on my embroidery machine

This is a quilt I made for Evelyns room it is quite stiff and a wallhanging but there is nothing saying she can't use it as a bed cover. In that case I did back it with pink fleece. The design is quite intricate and took hours on the embroidery machine, I am sure glad I chose the 7 X 7 panels not the 4X4 panels.

I am looking forward to making this at a later date and possibly a large design but knowing that it will take a good chuck of time

Three D snowflake anyone? Once again I made this on my embroidery machine, I just happened to be able to find a little holder for it!! Turned out cute

I had some little visitors at Xmas

I was able to find this play table with little yellow chairs Evelyn loved it , I stocked it with all sorts of crafts and they had fun seeing what Nanny hid in the drawers,

Evelyn was quite sick when here and she stayed in most of the time,
Ted and I got out each am to a local park where we found a huge assortment of swings, balance bars, things to climb and hang from .

Ted was very helpful as he and Grand dad and myself went to the grocery store, Ted was so full of energy I gave him my grocery cart to pull and he did all the way to the store over a mile!! Then we went across the street to McDonalds play place while Grand dad stocked up , and of course after all that play we had to have a snack which of course came with a toy!

We were able to get to the bug museum, they even made NANNY hold a few bugs! But did you know that Tarantula were actually very delicate and if dropped from a height of 6" would die from inflicted wound. Apparently their circulatory systems are very delicate and they would bleed to death
So this little monkey decided she did not want to take her medicine ,  she gaggs and tries to throw up and it is a real adventure for the parents. Evelyn discovered if she jumped into Teddy's toddler bed and hid her face it just may be harder for the parents to find her. Poor little thing!!!

The littlest one is on the mend and we went to Beacon Hill park to see the ducks in the ponds and the flowers that have just been installed for this season. Beacon Hill Park marks the start of Mile 0 of  the TransCanada Highway,

catch up time

This  is a little hat and thrum mitts I made for Evelyn for next winter, These mitts don't have thumbs and with the thrums will be very warm . Next request is a pair of mitts with thumbs NANNY!! The lower picture is of a neckarmer and hat double plied Corriedale and Romney.

I need to crack the whip I am soo procrastinating on this bobbin lace and I really need to stop and get it done, maybe soon!! My problem is I have way too many crafts

So the daughter purchased an Instant  pot for me and the first thing I made on my own was chilli and it did nothing but give me the burn sign, I waited for the daughter to come and visit. We made Keto Cheesecake and it was to die for.. I spread fresh fruit on the top, OH so good and so little calories and no sugar!!

I am not an old hat on this machine I have made  chilli's , stews and soups and veggies - sweet  potatoes, chicken and cranberries, it  is certainly a saver when it comes to reducing time in the kitchen!!
