How ugly is it?

I am getting quilted out of this donation fabric, I should have done something swank but I am getting brain dead with the left overs that I have. After this lot I have another idea on the last little bit and hope it pans out better., As I have a missmash of these strips I thought lets do something easy and see how I put it together. Either it will be one good sized quilt or if it is God Awful it will end up at two separate kiddy quilts.

It is very hard to determine what any of my quilts will look like, they are all so different once they are overstitched and borders added, what might be darn ugly in the beginning takes up new meaning. Lets hope I can keep up with the expectations

Oh and when I took a break from the quilting last night and thought I would sit still and visit with hubby - well look what happened This yarn just won't die I have tried to get rid of it and even to the last little bit it is still hanging on! Who would believe it.... Of course I could not let it go to waste! There is supposed to be ribbon threaded through I have ordered a bunch for another project but it has not arrived. So for effect I crocheted a chain and used the matching yarn! You know if I was really smart I would have added elastic in the little peep holes that the yarn went through- but yet again I was not that smart. LOL

Ever have one of those days

You were well organized, camera in hand, documenting every move
Then you hook up the camera to the computer, the internet crashes and in the midst of downloading your pics you loose everything? Well in this case you will have to use your imagination

SO the past two days have been cool, rainy and dank, We have been able to keep up our exercise by shopping ( and I did buy more fabric!) I started out at Walmart they for some reason, in FLorida, had 40 yards of Fleur De Lis. So I feeling patriotic bought 8 yards. If was a cotton fabric and quite nice, at $1.50 that was the wow attraction and I will use it on some quilt backings and it will look quite nice. I also loaded up on flannel another great deal and of course wonderful color. Now the big ? is who the heck is going to help me home with these things>

I had scraps and while watching tv

I had an itsy bits of these colors and wondered what I can make when it hit me- mitts for little people. Without thumbs little hands stay warm. I am needed some ribbon but... put yarn in through the peep holes for effect. Once I get back to the store I will purchase some ribbon

Hmm like fabric I still have left overs, maybe a toque will be on the list soon, but I must take a break from knitting my arthritic hands tell me so, three sweaters in one week is a wee bit too much for the old hands

From this to that

A little bit of fabric scraps, a yard of white and a little baby go to cut out appliques, I plan to overquilt the top and I am on the fence on felting in the vines and leaves, it may be a possibility

It is cold out there Baby

I had some yarn and it was calling me what was one to do.TADAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH about 10-12 hour of knitting and finishing, It is pretty cute again not my size!

A little small for me

Do you know what this is? A swaddle blanket. it is a zipped up coccon like sleeping bag for a baby, It replicates the womb, well this one has lots of little animals on it! I have not sewn stretch fabric since my early teens so this was a good sample to work on! I only took 1 zipper and 1/2 yard of fabric so if I was going to muck it up I would not cry!

What next should I try,,,,, Hmm I feel a quilt coming on!

I knit this in 2 afternoon and

Spent some time whipping in the ends. The most unfortunate problem is it is not in my size but some 18 month old would like it!

U know you are in Fl when

You look for simple runner and you get these colors

The only problem is that my feet like the rest of me are not tiny.
HMM shall we vote!

I thought this was a good resource

For those of us who sew and have found fat quarter patterns and mentally sit there and try to figure out the dimensions here it is................. Thank you fellow quilter who ever you are!!

Here it is

Still stumped? It is a changing pad. I had a 1/2 bath towel left from the bib making. I then used a vinyl table cloth for the " dirty side" . I stitched it together added an elastic loop and there we go! The caution is in stitching the table cloth you don't want to stitch it with too small a stitch as it tears easily.

What will tomorrow bring??

What is it?

It is rectangular, vinyl on one side, terry on the back side.

Keep thinking pics to follow

Sloopy joes

One can never have enough bibs
I had some left over cotton and a towel
I then purchased some alligator clips and just waiting for the ribbon to arrive
Once I get that I am all set. The bibs can be interchanged with the holders so when it so dirty you can put a new bib on you can even use a napkin and clip it in place

A little bit of yarn goes a long way

It was a quiet day what else was I to do!

Prototype - shopping cart cover

Whew I just winged it and it worked! I had 2 chunks of fabric one cotton and one that was fleece, cut it at 42 X 45" Folded it into 1/4's and managed to round up the corners of the raw edges so that is it a circle, Cut holes for the legs and holes for the seat belt, Made a pocket for the elastic and threaded it threw. Done job. My cost $7 targets cost $20. Not bad for an hours work!

$3.00 deal

Ben was out for awhile today and I had gotten off track. In order to redeam myself I hand turned and stitch these receiving blankets. I am not sure I am getting a handle on this fabric situation , maybe after tomorrow we will see, I have to take stock and see what I am up to then!

Talk about pedal power

http://www.pedalpub.com/stpete/index.html

I wonder just how many calories you really use. Just think that there is some truth to the exercise component but the calories ingest just may not be worth all that pedaling to wear them off. I saw this bike was making the circuit in a city to the east of us , not sure I would go to see it but it is entertaining!

Maybe we should rename it buns of steel, there are 15 pedal seats so you can pedal as you eat, there must be an alternate pedaller if ones with weak legs give out. There is a slide show on the link above. My real question is with all that liquid on board do they make potty stops?

Quilt Wizard

I bought a cheap quilt program, it supplies patterns, templates, layouts, samples of colors etc . There are many more sophisticated versions but I just wanted to try a little sample and see what happened, Here it is with my scraps .

Hmm anyone feel another quilt top coming on?
I just wanted to try the program it was very easy to use and it appears as if I can also use up a ton of scrap- well maybe mine seems to triplicate with use!~

It's here

It works, it is cheap and it is not frost free. That is ok without being frost free it just means it gets a weekly cleanout before the grocery shopping, takes minutes. Now all we have to do is to trim it in ! Lucky for us it fit in the hole. The fridge detail people do not know how to measure, this is the second fridge I have purchased that is 2-3" taller than advertised. my thought is that the must measure the fridge open area and no consideration of what the trim and outer dimensions are,. Lucky for us it fit both ways.

This was a group effort we flagged a nice neighbor that had a trailer and truck then we got to the store and back when another soul appeared with muscle, as a result the fridge was popped into it's resting spot in record time.

Now lets all hope we have an uneventful stay the rest of the season!
