And the saga continues

Don't ever believe hubby when he says it is all my fault.
After gleaming about his flooring job he decided to rip out any existing rug in the rv and now our whole floor is new. At best of times I remove my shoes, I am not even sure if my feet should touch this floor.Let alone should I charge for viewing rights as my friends check out Ben's handiwork.

Note to Sal: Yep that is right Ben even got all the moulding done and it looks great too. Wonders never cease

Let's see if those Yankies are going to post .....

a go home sign on this Canadian's lawn. I have been invited to play board games / cards tonight. We will see how I do, I am a whiz kid at cards. Little do they know that I can play cards yep folks it is a revelation. Actually a sport that I can boast I am good at.. well most of the time.

I will look so demure, innocent beyond description until I meld. That is it spring it on them. Wish me luck or collect bail money. I am not sure they will ever invite me back!

Crossing the threshold- tread lightly

I was so good that Santa managed an early Xmas gift.
Out with the old.. In with the new..
Santa aka Ben yanked pulled and heaved the old carpet out of the rv
Thanking everyone it was not glued down, but he did manage to pull up a few hundred tacks that anchored the floor down.

Then he laid a nice oak floor- we cheated it was vinyl planks but look great and we had no trouble, the hardest part was cleaning up all the old tacks. It was once again a neighborhood event with people peaking in and out while he worked. The job in total took about 7 hours with the larger portion taken up by fussey cuts. We are very pleased and now too tired to eat our Pre Xmas meal. It will be heat and serve tonight!!

Thank you Santa

And some go off with a bang!!

Kapowey.. I was on my scooter, motoring around within the speed limit and it happened. I had a blow out. No it is not do to my over indulgence at this time of year. Probably a worn slightly over inflated back tire, as I had just pumped it up. Oh well on the job list for dear hubby!

I brought one Xmas decor to our campsite

The daughters boyfriend refused to have this on their front lawn, he thought it was tacky. I want to let him know that Santa is safe with me and fits right in to the decor here in the land of no snow

Hot stuff!

Well most of you think it is winter I am sure that it is summer here in Florida.
What with the green grass, flowers in abundance of blooms and the AC blasting as the heat soars above 89 in our rv. We are suffering in hard times, I can hear the sentiment from my most northern friends.

Today we went to the Marion Market, a large flea market about 2o miles north of us. Veggies and fruit on display, highly polished and not so highly priced, clothing, dollar items, and home improvement tools, adorned the tables. The crowd was pleasant no pushing, pulling or bopping into each other, politeness reigned. What is more important is that i made it home with still some money in my pocket.

Community Event

And thar she blows!!!!!!!!!! Yes folks we are all tied down, anchored to the helm. The ever decorated shed has taken it's place at HTR. With donations from neighbors, long lost signage that made it to my shed here we are a spectacle. It will take time to see if the greenery takes .. with cacti, elephant ears, snake plants to poinsetta's my shed it well adorned. Thanks to the participants of the shed decor team. We will have to see what survives and what goes. I somehow think that I am expected to have a coffee room in the shed to house the many onlookers and of course supporters of the event.

Perhaps in the New Year we will have to christen the metal abode. Perhaps we should run a contest " Name this shed"?

Merry Christmas - golf cart style

There were a few brave souls who braved the Xmas Golf Cart parade here at HTR
I managed to snap a few. Too bad with my new camera I had not studied the different modes. Either that or wear my reading glasses. It is a Miracle!! I even have some on video I had no idea I was filming.

Now the bigger question is ?????? Have I lost it? Better not ask the better half

Ben's tree is abust!

Not only is Ben's tree full of festive fruit.. I took advantage of the over hang of branches and planted some immpatients and rockery flox. I am hoping that the frost doesn't find them hiding under the overhanging foliage

Clogging does funny thing to the feet

And look at those legs? Aren't they slim.. NO these are not our signature legs and feet after our many dance-athons that Pat and I have performed, under the guidance of our courageous dancing teacher. This is one of two of my Xmas decorations. I love it easy to put out easy to take down!!

Oh to be a baby again

Aren't kids fabric great? Here are some flanelette sheets plus one of two itsy bitsy baby blankets one is a double fleece the other only a single layer- Too bad they will only cover my tootsies!

Nap Time?

I had some chenile left over and decided to mix it up a little. The blanket border has a double yarn of acrylic and chenile with a vintage pattern of again a double yarn of one pale green and the other white, The blanket is a lot heavier with the double yarn. Too bad it is infant sized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the cake that Pat and Norm made

We went out for my birthday dinner, we were all too full and too tired for desert
Today we will have our desert and another birthday lunch to celebrate or not count calories.

Don't you think it is too pretty to eat?

54? Hmm a good year so I thought

As I started my day I knew there would be trouble. Previously the night before we found not one but two leaks in our rv roof, Should be a simple job to repair once the torrent of rain stops. Our neighbor has a similar problem so we felt we were in good company! What else could happen? Well 1)the vent on top of the bed decided to leak so we dried the bed linen and put a tarp on the bed. First time in 53 years that I needed a plastic sheet on my bed. We slept in the living area of the RV on a comfy futon.

Dawn of the new day bought other circumstances. First we surveyed the place for more leaks- nope everything has been accounted for.. SO one would have thought it safe to get dressed. Hmm clunk!!!! Scream!! There goes my very expensive ( so my hubby reminds me everytime i put them on) diamond earing down the P trap. Luckily the plumber who put in the plumbing had not glued every joint, the plumbing disassembled and out popped my earing... Things to be thankful for today????????????? That i did not loose the earing in the septic system!

How many Men....

One ceiling fan, a very heavy ceiling fan, and three old men!! All trying to disconnect this fan and not get wounded or electrified!! And where were the women- taking the pic for future reference!

Not one, two , but three

Orchids, orchids everywhere. There i was surrounding by plumage of purple, white, mauves and yellows. $5 a piece or two for $9..Ben loves orchids, I kill orchids. I have a rather green thumb but these tubers elude me. The old man at the market said he had to get rid of them and they were for sale $10 for three. How could anyone refuse? Now let's see if I can keep them alive!

A thousand lashes

Today we went AWOL ---shopping, out to lunch with friends. Not to let any of you down we did manage to do a little work- cement slab walk. We placed cement slabs at the base of our stairs, not quite level but that is work for the am. So you see I did not get into much mischief and have so much to get caught up on tomorrow
