Day in the inner workings of Victoria BC. so many pics to take so much going on!
Visitor's Center in inner harbor in Victoria, BC< I suppose this is to advertise the whale watching business around the corner. I wonder how heavy it is I have just the spot for it at home
Going in style at $50 an hour, can you imagine the legs I would have after working for these guys for a week? Heck what about buns of steel.. If you have been to Victoria you will know that there is a hill on every corner- Hmm wonder if they just go in circles to avoid them?
Hundreds of motor bikes and scooter from Northern States and all over BC. They are participating in a motorcyle run...................If you know of the emission control test performed on vehicles in selected regions you will appreciate it!! You have no idea the exhaust fume when these all start up and speed off at the same time
Well if the pedibike is not your cup of tea, look across the street - Your chariot awaits
One more totem pole there are tons around the inner core
This carillon does sounds off on special occasions

It was a spiffy start to the am
Only could happen to me, I washed out the tub with the mop and put it on the deck just along the ledge. Out for my am walk and what so I see the mop that most have got blown off the ledge and now on the lower roof. I said hubby put on your shoes and follow me, He did wandering what happened. I told him it was me.OHOH says he. Then I walked him about 500 feet away and said look up he did and then fits of laughter at me!! Luckily it was within reach, Sadly I did not have my camera ready to shot a pic of him dangling over the ledge- you know the fellow that usually falls off roofs!

Redneck Cedar planter
Had leftover wood from the fence we build below. I had a cracked blue recycle container and then added soil, The cedar is just a collar so it is is just sitting on the blue box.Now to plant up

Cedar Fence tutorial- the Low way
Looks like rain we are now awaiting delivery of the wood!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT WOOT.Maybe I am a bit too enthusiastic
Move the drain spout ever so slightly
Measure and cut the post to size that is going to attach to the wall. we left it off the ground about 4"
Make sure your screws are long enough to go through this wood and what you are attaching it to
Look to see you have the right size drill to make the first whole and then a thinner one the last 1-1.5" so that you are countersinking the screws
This is our screw countersunk- it will be hidden by the fence panel |
Oh and by the way we lightly screwed the fence panel to the posts at the other end so that when we add the next one if there is any change we will be ok. Now this spike did not want to act nice, it wanted to be a little skewed so we put that 7 foot post in and banged it down it went in well and it was straighter then when we tried with the smaller piece of wood. Never fails!!
I know about now you are asking where is jane- well I am holding on the fence section , looking pretty and i| I am taking pics- hopefully the fence is still level. NOTE to self if your level doesn't seem level- AHHA we found that the plastic trim on the LEVEL was making it scew once they were removed EVERYTHING was level
First panel up and lunch break and did I mention it is raining! OK torrential rain, we will have our lunch, then desert and then T................Part two is a little more exciting.
We are going to have to cut the panel ( it came in 6 X8 section ) so I will try to capture that, basically we will remove one end CAREFULLY and remove the panels that are extra. THEN we will put it back making sure that it is well nailed and the trim reattached. Not only will it look good, IT WILL STAY together not like another we saw............... Stay tuned see you soon. Part 2 will follow here...............
We are back at it, The rain won't stop> SO we were looking at this section it is 96" and we need it to go into a 63" space. What do you do?
